You are my sunshine...

Ah, yeah.. the sun is finally here. I have had so much motivation the last few days. Our usually lazy Saturday turned into a bunch of mini adventures. Adrienne got a swimming pool and a bathing suit, which we are going to use today! She also got sidewalk chalk and bubbles. She's loving the sidewalk chalk, and gets mad when we stop blowing bubbles at her, haha.

She's down for her nap, now and Jonathon is ChaCha-ing. He is set on getting new Wii games. What a nerd! That's ok, I secretly (or maybe not so secretly) would love some new games as well.

I got a magical and mystical new 50mm f/1.8 lens for my camera on Thursday. I am utterly in love with it. I know I have a ton to learn about photography, and my kit lens has a lot of potential, but it just wasn't taking me in the direction I wanted to go. This new lens works with me, it feels so natural. I have some focus issues to work on but that'll come with time.

In other beautiful baby news, I was contacted by a modeling agency that wants to represent Adrienne and she has a casting call tomorrow for a shoot for a children's clothing boutique!

Woohoo sunshine!

We're so happy to finally see some sun! This weekend was awesome, the sun was out and we got alot done.

The weather really affects me, I get really unmotivated when the weather is yucky. The second I heard that it was going to be in the 60s this last weekend I was already making plans for all the stuff we had to do!

On Saturday we went and got a huge push broom for some outdoor cleaning. While we were at Home Depot, Adrienne walked by herself the whole time! She is getting to be such a big girl. She just holds my hand and off we go! I swept our whole outside area, it's all paved, but there were tons of pine needles and tiny pine cones everywhere. Adrienne ran around like a wild baby and just loved being outside. She kept pointing to all the stuff I was sweeping up and saying "Eww! Yucky!"

The weather was perfect on Sunday. We were lazy all morning. When Adrienne went down for her nap, Jonathon and I got some work done. We went out and raked up all the pine needles and cones I swept up yesterday, and by the end of it we had dumped 5 garbage bags worth into the yard waste bin. There is still soooo much left, but the bin was full, so we'll have to get to it next weekend. We also pruned some trees and planned out where we want to put flowers, which is pretty much everwhere. They (the city) are cutting down alot of the trees outside our place, so we won't have to worry about pine needles ruining all our hard work.

After that we went to the beach! It was just so perfect, the weather was nice and the sun wasn't too bright. Adrienne wouldn't walk in the sand, she didn't know what to think of it! So she just sat in it and played with it. She just loved it! I can't wait to go again sometime soon.

Scratch that.. not employed

Well, my sneaky suspicion was right. That mom I was nannying for is the scum of the earth. I worked for her 2 days, and now she has disappeared and won't return my calls or emails and won't pay me the $175 she owes me. (I had lowered it to close to $100 before she decided to avoid me).

I understand that there are crummy people out there, I just assume they won't try to get me. Why, I don't know.. I should know better because it seems people like to take advantage of my kindness. But, no matter how much I get screwed over.. I'm still so naive. I just assume, or maybe just HOPE that people wouldn't be rotten enough to screw over a young mom trying to make money for her little family and little baby girl. Apparently some people just have no heart.. I feel bad for her son, really.

Anyways.. I'm trying my hardest to just forget about it, because there's nothing I can do. But, I can't help but be bitter and frustrated. I'm trying to find a new family to nanny for, and this time they will pay me UP FRONT!


In other news, I sent in my America's Next Top Model application.. or no, actually Jonathon did. He helped me out so much putting it together and getting it there on time, what a great guy! Now I'm just waiting to hear from them!


I have some new pics of Adrienne and her cousin, I will get to posting them soon. She's being a sweetie pie right now and telling me she wants raisins.. So I gotta go!
